Valuable Assessments

Jack is certified to administer and interpret the FIRO™ instrument for assessing interpersonal relationship styles that either contribute to or detract from collaboration, team-building and social culture.  In addition to this tool, he uses the VIA™ Character Study, various assessments for Social/Emotional Intelligence, Typefinder for the Workplace™, and assessment instruments tailored to communication and conflict resolution including the Thomas Kilmann Conflict-Mode Instrument™.

Using assessments is a great way to help your paid or volunteer staff to develop better self-insight. People with elevated self-insight can be more effective in their individual roles within the organization and they tend to have healthier interpersonal working relationships with others.

There are a lot of tools available.  Some very expensive and others relatively inexpensive or free. Jack uses instruments that are cost effective and produce comprehensive reports with practical recommendations for growth. He would be happy to discuss various options with you. Training & Coaching

The effectiveness of good assessments hinges partly on the report itself, but mainly on the way the report is individually interpreted and integrated into group training. Jack specializes in helping individuals understand their working style and the way they manage their interactions with others through coaching conversations. This one-on-one exchange has been very helpful to move people forward in their personal and professional growth.

Using assessments as the foundation of trainings when they are conducted among a team of managers or co-workers has proven to be very effective at improving organizational culture. The group is able to apply self-insight to teamwork dynamics and better understand the working style and needs of each group member which contributes to greater empathy, cohesion and collaboration.

Individual coaching and report interpretation is typically done virtually or in person over a 2-4 day period in advance of a 1/2 day group training. The training emphasis follows the theme of the selected report, but all of the trainings include a strong emphasis on Self-insight and it’s connection to better self and social awareness. Jack can provide training services apart from the use of assessment tools and the individual coaching-interpretation meetings, but his preference based on overall efficacy is to combine these individual resources with group training if at all possible.
